Niles business damaged by flames | News, Sports, Jobs

NILES — A Robbins Avenue restaurant and bar was heavily damaged as flames struck the business early Friday.

Capt. Rodney Freel of the Niles Fire Department said crews arrived at the Dragon’s Den Bar and Grill in the 2700 block about 3:30 a.m. The roof line of the structure was in flames, Freel said.

At the time, the business was closed with no one inside. Crews were there for three hours, Freel said, and one minor injury was sustained — a firefighter hurt his hand.

The road was closed while firefighters fought the flames, but reopened around 6:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, Freel said, with an investigation continuing.
